Texas

Made our first sale today. We've been gifting a dozen here and a dozen there to good friends, family, and some neighbors, but we never really intended to sell any eggs. After receiving what was truly intended to be a gift, our neighbors liked them so much they asked to setup a recurring weekly purchase of a dozen. Our jr chicken farmer has been tasked with candling the eggs to double check that there's nothing out of the ordinary, packing, and delivering them next door.
This is turning into a fun little project, but now I want to use this as an excuse to get another one of a breed we don't have.
Must resist my chicken math itch!
The math is hard to resist!

I may have started looking at breeds, but I really shouldn't. I think we're technically already above the designated limit by the city (I misread the rules and thought it was 10 or under per coop, but it's less than 10). I haven't reread the rules to see if it would be kosher if we built a second coop. 🤣

Not to be an enabler or anything, but you can't just add one

Hi Texas peeps!
I’m a lost northerner going to school in this very warm land. ☀️

I am wondering if anyone can tell me anything about the Yellow Rose Classic poultry show? Have you ever gone? Ever heard of it? It’s not too far from me and I’m dying to see some poultry that aren’t the ducks at the park. 😅

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to Texas! I have not been personally, but if you're interested I'd definitely recommend going, folks around Texas are generally quite friendly and welcoming!

Welcome to the Texas thread and Texas!

Haven't been to that one myself. I've only been to the Bluebonnet Classic.

Howdy, :frow and Welcome to the Texas thread!
Haven't heard of the Yellow Rose Classic but if you have the chance to go, do it!
There will be plenty of peeps there to talk with and great resources for finding breeders.
