Texas

Thought I'd ask this on the TX thread since Ideal is located in this state.

Anyone ever get Ideal's Black Copper Marans? How dark are their eggs?

@Auntiejessi3 I think I remember a post where you got some Blue Olive Eggers from them (unintentionally). I'm also looking at those.
I have had their BCM, but I've had other breeds from there. Nothing of any quality. Plunge isn't great for the breeds I've gotten, birds don't look great. I'd skip hatchery birds and find a good breeder with quality birds that's controlled, managed, and bred for the betterment of the breed... its so much nicer starting with good birds vs wild, ugly, bad lined genetics.

Welcome to Texas! I have not been personally, but if you're interested I'd definitely recommend going, folks around Texas are generally quite friendly and welcoming!

Welcome to the Texas thread and Texas!

Haven't been to that one myself. I've only been to the Bluebonnet Classic.

According to the website this is the "first annual show". So I think the only answer is nobody knows!

Howdy, :frow and Welcome to the Texas thread!
Haven't heard of the Yellow Rose Classic but if you have the chance to go, do it!
There will be plenty of peeps there to talk with and great resources for finding breeders.
Thanks for the warm welcome peeps! Haha, I didn’t even notice that this is the first year of the show. 😅 I am so excited for it, and I will let y’all know how it goes!

These February temperatures are crazy… back in Vermont it’s single digits right now and I’m used to that. I’ll probably just shrivel up when summer actually arrives. 😂

I got blue sexlinks for a broody (I thought the one I kept laid a green egg, but it was a mistake on my part) I don't have any other birds from them, sorry. I have Wheaten Marans from Meyers and the one that's laying lays a nice dark egg.
