I hear ya! Sometimes my dad and I ( we are neighbors) will be front porch swinging together watching the flock for hrs. Free entertainment. good quality time since dad turned 80 this yr.

Thank you! Been back for a few years now, and finally getting the property in shape enough to think about a coop, run and fencing.
The #1 blessing has been being back with friends and family.
And, I'm no longer the only one saying "yes Ma'am" and "yes Sir"!

Texas also welcomed me back...
I'd lost the habit of shaking out my boots, until I tugged on my mucks (sitting on the porch in October) and discovered a red wasp had leased it out!
Of course our new neighbors were driving by when I hit the ground screaming like a crazy person!
It's great to be back with the family!

I always check for scorpions before putting on shoes.
I had one in my dryer vent the other day. It was cooked.
