thats good to know so hopfully the 2 that went broody on me will start to lay again soon. one sat on the nest for a week but thats was about 2 weeks ago and the other i broke her broody within the first 4 days. and that was almost a week ago.

Did anyone else have trouble from the rain today? I know we needed the rain and it sure cooled us off thank goodness, but I wasn't home when it started and my chicks that were too hot yesterday got all wet and too cold today. I lost three and had to bring the rest in and warm them up fast. Still working on getting them dry though. Any suggestions?

I didn't have any trouble with it today, but i have had chicks nearly drown in the rain before, and i revived them just by getting them warm fast and frequently dipping their beaks in vitamin water until they started going for it themselves.

Of course we got rain .. we started a coop building project on Sunday .. it only rains when we're building ..
