We had a torrential downpour earlier this week. 4 1/2 inches.
My friend totaled his car in it.

But... The weather sure is nice and I'm probably going to take my horses for a trail ride sometime this weekend. But first! I must clean the chicken coop. Prioritizing stinks.

i went didn't enter though,

Not many birds at all maybe abot 100 birds I highly dough there was much more than that.
I think the only classes full were probably the bantam old english & moderns.

I was literally in and out in 30 min or so. I just went to look, There were rabbits & pigeons there.
I think the winners were,

Large Fowl
S.C. Brown Leghorn Hen Champion
W.C. Black Polish Res. Champion.

BantamChampions Were I think Old English black or BB Red.

My Chickens are loving this weather... I forgot what they looked like when they weren't panting! Even tho it is going to get up in the mid 90s this afternoon, I sure hope this is the beginning of milder weather for us. I think my chickens and myself are more energetic when the mornings are cooler...

I had 2 (maybe 3) more chickens crow this weekend... so out of the ten I began with, I am down to maybe 4

... I have two babies that are 9 weeks old and two that are 16 or 17 weeks old left... I posted pics of one of the older ones and almost everyone said "rooster"... but you never know. One of the chickens that started crowning this weekend is just so tiny compared to the others ... I was hoping for a girl but it is so cute to see this little bitty thing crowing!

My husband and I went out to LaGrange yesterday also. What a great little town, we got to see the parade and it was really touching to see the town honor their old and young Veterens, sometimes we forget the sacrifices that so many made for us. I had never seen a poultry show, so I had fun! Since I had nothing to compare it to, I was just thrilled to see some many kind of birds. I had no idea that there were so many different varieties. I took pictures so I can remember to look them up, because it sure looks like I am going to be having room for some more girls!

I hope everyone enjoys their Labor Day Weekend !

I think I have at least one girl of the older ones. And I am hoping at least one of the babies is a girl...but hopefully both of them are girls - they cling to each other and are inconsolable when they are apart. I would hate to seperate them. They do everything together.

I love all of the roosters -- every one of them! They are just tons of fun to watch! Part of me just wants to have roosters and just buy eggs somewhere. But the lady I got them from said that once my rooster's testosterone really kicks in that they will get mean. And they will forget that they love me and were my little babies. When I go out to her place, she has two of silkie roosters and they crow alot and try to attack her when she gets close to them or close to their hens. I just hate to think that my little roosters that jump up on my lap and love to be brushed, rocked and sang to would be like that, but I guess it is just part of their nature.

Its getting hot outside!

Hi Kim

Yes its hot already! I went out to do my daily cleaning of the coop and gather eggs and wondered where that cool front went off to...lol.
Your lil roo's sound adorable! Makes me want some. Maybe when they get older and start getting rowdy it wont be so hard to get rid of them if you plan on it still.
Will let you know when the next meet is...should be soon...it's September!

The eggs I put in the bator after Shiner was killed hatched this weekend. For little 1/2 Favs, they sure are cute! They all have 5 toes and feathered legs and little fluffy bearded look to them .. the only thing that belies them is the chipmunk stripes .. LOL.

I'm just glad to have some little five toed monsters from him!
