Had I not been in a tiny rented Chevy Aveo and had taken my truck like I should have, there's no telling what would have come home with me! LOL
The Sumatra were fairly well represented there-it was a really big show. I wasn't blown away by his comb shape, but he was pretty darn nice. My husband kept going back to look at him-I think he wanted to try to buy him to add to our flock but I told him NO MORE Sumatra roosters!

Brrrrr... Had to take warm water out to the birds this morning - they had ice to drink.

I'm in Longview, NE corner of the state.
6 Red Sex-links
3 Black SL's
1 Hamburg mix

I raise them for eggs, and sell enough to cover my feed cost.

The new coop is halfway built now. It should support 16 (or more

) birds.

I'm in Elgin, about 20 miles east of Austin.

A beginner hobbiest with 73 chickens of various ages. About 40 pullet/hens. The rest are roosters which will be culled after selecting breeders. Buff Orps, Mahogany RIR, Barred Rocks, and Light Brahamas. It's a lot of fun and it provides food and manure for the garden.

What color of ducks did you get , Now you will have more to show, who won in the Ducks Charlie or Dennis , did you get any from either one of them

Hi Pigeon,
I came home with 9 new beauties.
A beautiful pair of Whites from Lee Morey
A nice pair of Charlie's grays
A penciled pair from Jim Monk(New Mexico and an awesome guy)
Trio of self-blacks from Dennis

Dennis won with a really pretty little gray drake.
Terry Brit had some REALLY nice grays there as well.
It was a fantastic oppurtunity to meet and pick the brains of some of these guys.
Lee Morey and Jim Zimmerman were really great guys-very helpful and personable.
It was an great learning experience for me to get to meet and buy birds from some of these breeders.
AWESOME time!

That is great , Glad we are getting new blood here in Texas, I have seen some of Morey birds and what I have seen has been nice , Never have seen any of Dennis Blacks, I bet they are pretty, I just new you would have brought home some of Dennis Butterscotch , I am getting some Pastel, and Blue Fawn next spring from Art,

I tried to get Dennis to part with some of those Butters, but he was having no part of it!
I'm on the hunt for a nice Butter hen-very hard to find.

As soon as I am able to let them go for a swim, I'll be posting some pictures, right now, they are a little travel weary and worn, but all made the trip fine.

The blacks aren't all that typey, but that'll be a project for me and I'll have them at the BBC, along with all of my other new birds!
