Hi Kim! How's Ashes doing? You would have loved the show this weekend, they had TONS of beautiful Silkies there.
It's not illegal to bring birds in from other states, but it is pretty difficult to get them in IF you go by the Ag laws.
I had a pair of Butterscotch Call ducks shipped from Illinois a few months ago and it was unreal the amount of paperwork/testing she had to go through to get them down here!
Our shows are not open to out of state exhibitors, which is really a shame.
From what I under stand is you can ship birds in But you can not drive them over in a car, Now if you go OKLA lets say, If you get health Papers on them from the vet you can take them to OKLA to show and bring them back ,I don't under stand why out of state birds can't come here but i know it is against the law for them out of state to come here,That is why all our shows are for TX , only, go figure, I know I can sell birds here all day long with no problem, But i can not go across the street and sell them, I can ship birds in from LA but I can not go to LA and pick them up and bring them here ,All I know the Law is all mess up
What a silly silly rule!
It would be so wonderful if we could host a big Poultry Event ... then everyone could see how nice everyone is in Texas!
If anyone knows a way to change the laws, I would like to help.
Thanks for asking about my little Ashes... I think she is doing better ... I switched her to Tylan 50 ... I am to scared to inject it so she is getting it in her mouth -- today, the weather was so pretty and sunny and she ran around in the sunshine all day and I am letting her sleep outside in her coop tonight, this is the first night since she got sick that she (and her buddies) have slept outside! I'm sure I will go out a dozen times to check on them
