Buff laced Brahmas are not a recognized variety. If she plans to show them they can not be placed above BV. Did you happen to mean Buff Brahmas?

Nope they are buff laced from Dan Powell stock. I mentioned them only as an example because I was able to find them locally. I am currently just looking for breeders of recognized breeds in Texas for my daughter's project. I am so glad that so many people are willing to share all the information and knowledge. I am new to this and I am building my first flock and coop.

I bet they are higher than a cat's back. People go nuts over that "Dan Powell" stuff. I think there is a show in La Grange this weekend. I don't have ANY info on it though. That's fairly close to Austin I think. That would be a good place to meet breeders, and your daughter could check out the different breeds and varieties.

Tim,

Awesome! I will check it out and the price was very very fair. Is it sad that I have a name for my coop before I have even broke ground?

Rain? what is that? I am guessing those ducks have no idea what to do. I was visiting San Antonio and it rained very very hard for 5 mins. I saw people pull over off the highway and get out of the cars just to feel it. I sure hope all this heat means we are not going to skip fall and go straight to winter.

I'm watching them out the window, the older geese and ducks are just playing in the rain. The one's that hatched this year have went to the barn.

And please no early, nasty winter, a month of 70 degree weather would be nice for a change.
