Texas

Okay for those around Austin that just want a good egg laying hen, I have Barnevelder X Barred Plymouth Rock (the cross looks mostly black with a little lacing on the pullets and the Roos look just like BPRs). Should be both good layers and/or meat :). Asking $5 each, they are 7 weeks old. 5 pullets and 2 Roos.

does anyone in the Dallas area have meat birds for sale? Chicks ok.. older ok... heck even old layers might be fine too. We just want to try out hands at meat birds
I am not in the Dallas Area but more Fort Worth but I have cornish Rocks here for sale. I am sure hubby and I can meet up someplace if you are wanting some. We are going to be doing our first meat birds this year as well. And was sent a really good video on how to do it from the family we get ours from. They take the skin off theres and its fast. I am going to do mine this way and a few with the skin on as well.
Let me know if you are interested in any They are a month old now.

Does anyone else breed sumatras here in tx? Looking for some general pointers.
My gramps had them when I was little and I spent most of my adult life looking for that big black bird! He still raises chickens but dosent speek much english and I don't want him to get jelous that I have them now and try to chick-nap them....lol he has done that before! Also anyone raising WFBS? DW wants some hens and I just want to know how well the are with other breeds.... we have a quickly growing flock of turkens, crested, BR, minorcas, BSL, sumatras, cochins, dotties, and a few inside bantams!

I just found out I had a Sumatra lol. I was being tested for my PIP and the guy that does my area was the one to tell me. I have her in with my Australorps sense the person that gave them to us she was with them then as well. So all that time I was thinking she might have been a banty of that breed. So that means the chicks that hatched from her are Australorp X Sumantra. I need to look that breed up to see what they are about. If you lived closer I would just sell you mine to add to your flock. But I am just outside of Fort Worth.
I am not NPIP certified yet and not sure on how and if it was safe to ship adult chickens.

I have two 12 week old bantams (one pullet, one cockrel) that I believe are(but hey, I could definitely be wrong) Porcelain OEGB's. As of right now, the boy hasn't started letting his voice be heard, but as I am inside the city limits, as soon as he does he'll have to go. Is anyone interested? I'm located in Tyler, TX. I head to the DFW area fairly often, so I could probably work out delivery or a meet-up if you're in that area. Just getting a feeler out there.
