Théo and the chickens des Sauches

I really didn't mean to make you feel bad! And I'm really sorry I did.
Please don't take it personally. But do recognize that it's a term with more baggage than most.
Oh don't worry, I am not taking it personally.
I am just sad about the state of the world and how it infiltrates language. As you say, words matter!
If you take the meaning of the word as Wordsworth and I intended(!) and say that word is now negative, it just feels very Orwellian.
War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance is Strength.

Thank you both.
Makes me feel a bit better!

If it makes you feel better, I would never have thought it would have that negative meaning. But I do get it now after reading so many posts.

I say that you keep on using how you've been using it. People should know what you mean, like Perris, MJ, they all did. If people want to be offended or snarky, then let them be.

Manue, I am so sorry that you keep having trouble with the chickens that you recently got. I really hope Lilly's feet will get better with your careful attendance.

On the positive side, I am glad Kara has no ascites. Nougat looks very good with her new feather. In fact, all 3 of the ex-batts are looking good. I also hope that Lulu has been laying her eggs smoothly since her first one.

ETD: When you said you feel so relaxed to watch the birds movie, I was thinking I feel relaxed reading your thread. I was catching up from half a month ago. I hope all is well!

I don't really think we can escape taking her back to the vet.

Nougat still looks strange, but at least she is warm ! She needs another week or two to shed off all the keratin sheath. And toward 6 this morning Lulu made noises that sounded more like à egg song and less like a pig/duck , and I found a cute little egg on the floor again 🙂.

That is a lovely thing to say because I am such a stressed person. I’m not sure it works in english, we say I drown in a cup of tea 🙂 !
@lightm I’m really glad to see you catching up. And I hope all is well with you too, and how are your chickens ?

Drown in a cup of tea is an interesting phrase. Rather evocative.
Does it mean making too much of things that are actually small?
The closest I can think of in English are ‘to make a mountain out of a molehill’ and ‘it is a storm in a teacup’.
The French phrase conjures up more about being personally overwhelmed which neither of the English ones I could think of quite do justice to.

I am a very stressed person too. I've been stressed out about not producing enough research, stressed out about my toxic work environment, and stressed out about my dad's health. But everyone has something to deal with. In all fairness, I am doing all right.

My chickens are doing well! They are happy chickens. If there is any problem, it is Honey who gives us almost one egg per day.

I think I am not a particularly stressed person - but I do find chickens and cats are both very good for stress.
If I sit outside with the chickens I find a lot of peace. I find their little noises particularly soothing.
