Same here. I was never interested in having kids. I'm still too busy fulfilling my childhood dreams of having dogs and horses and chickens and living on a farm (I wasn't allowed pets growing up, so I tease my parents about the fact that their only grandchildren are animals).

I candled my set of 18 silkie eggs yesterday.
Looks like I may actually get a decent batch out of
this set.
12 are for sure developing, 2 are kinda questionable,
1 bloodring, and 3 clear.

Woohoo! Can't wait to hatch more Silkies!

Turkey Day is Chick Chick day for me too. My first time to incubate.
After reading this, I am going to candle. I thought I had to wait 10 days
to see anything.

I candled my eggs last night.

RIR eggs: 2 with blood rings and one scrambled. One or two are questionable.

Ameracauna eggs: 1 scrambled and a couple are questionable.

Banty Partridge Cochin eggs: These are from my girls. All 6 show excellent veining!!

Hopefully, it will be a good hatch!!

Good luck, everybody!!!

Yep, on the same page. And I always loved animals and we weren't allowed indoor pets either. My mate and I are just big kids ourselves in a lot of ways.. and maybe a wee bit indulgent of our own interests and hobbies. His hobbies are inanimate kind, but has come to Adore our little house bunny and so that's really cute. He hasn't taken to the chickens but he sure does love the eggs! He'll ask.. are THESE eggs from today? He's getting spoiled!
