Thanksgiving Day Hatch, anyone?

Sorry to hijack, but...Hey, Kelley. How are your Halloween babies doing? Mine are great. We've moved them to the brooder in the barn.

Are you hatching for Christmas, too? I should get eggs (blue/black/splash orps) the end of this week, and my BC marans should ship the first week in December.

Turning the egg all around when candling it can damage the blood veins in the egg. A lot of people don't even pick them up, but if you do, bring it straight up to the light, which you are going to shine through the top of the egg through the air sac. Check for veins, embryo, whatever, and put it straight back down into the bator.

BBSO's are gorgeous. I bought some from MissPrissy and had a phenominal hatch last week. They may be my favorite yet. After this weeks hatch, I was going to be "done" for a while.....I just set some more BO's and some BA's last night...so here we go again!

Today is day 18 and time to take the eggs out of the auto turner.
We need to bring up the humidity up to 65% and wait for Peep Day. What else do we need to do?
