I am absolutely devastated. I put our first four Nankin peeps in the brooder. My EcoGlo brooder plate needs a new cord, which has not yet arrived, so I had a heat lamp on them. The lamp apparently shifted and I have four dead peeps - it took all of about six minutes. My poor babies. This was our best hatch ever - seven, so far, and now this. It's almost enough to make me quit. Almost.

Up to 6 quail now. Still one zipping bresse. Hoping at least 1 more bresse pip anf hatch for me. 3 is a good number for getting 1 girl hopefully.

My Bresse are due Wednesday. on the rest of yours.

Edit went to clean out Hatcher. There were 4 eggs that had not hatched. Well 1 started peeping at me. When I went to toss. So we shall see if it comes out

Mine were all due to hatch today, but started yesterday.
After a freak situation with the cabinet incubator, I moved the last of the Easter HAL to a reserve warmed old Little Giant incubator I keep on hand for weak chicks.
The last of the Easter HAL has two hatched and at least 5 pipped....adding to the 41 already running around the brooder.
Will get you a final count by this evening.

The freak situation....The outlet supplying power to the cabinet went kaput during the night dropping the temperature to 61. No idea how long that was.
Replaced the outlet and temps came back to normal...
saving three trays of incubating eggs.
Once the temp was back I candled the trays looking for movement inside the eggs....found it on all trays.
For good hatches on those eggs come April 25, April 27 and May 2.

So sorry for your loss...equipment failures take the joy from successes. Glad your hatch was good and bet the next is even better.

Ok so 19 chicks hatched!

So with the 9 duckings already reported plus the 19 chicks my total was 28 of 35.

@MROO I am so sorry I have gone to bent hardware cloth a heating pad over no auto off to fight not expensive but real easy to make Amazon sells large heating pads not auto off at good prices
