The 10th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!!!!!

My hatching addiction/desire is serious... thought I wanted an IncuView for the ease of cleaning (since it’s plastic) and the clear plastic top all around for the best view of the hatch but now I kind of want to get the Hovabator Genesis 1588 (which is the other one I was considering) just because it holds a lot more eggs and I want to hatch as many quail as possible... But I should probably start smaller anyway...

I have seen GQF sell the Genesis with quail hatching eggs in a bundle. If you find it, ask them to switch to coturniix instead of bob white

Currently trying to hatch some no hope because they have been in a fridge for 2 months eggs for my mom. lol I'm not expecting anything but it would be awesome since some of the eggs are from her hens that got killed a couple weeks ago. Also have a fresh egg from the BCM hen so maybe I'll get that one to hatch.

Can they switch it? I never even thought of asking them to do that. But that is a good idea since bobwhite are illegal here. I think you can with a permit but not sure on that. I wasn’t sure about the Genesis because of the styrofoam. That is my only hesitation with that one.

BUT I wouldn’t really want that one anyway because it’s really expensive and I don’t need the brooder or all the extra stuff with it. And they DO have a coturnix package. So I wouldn’t have to substitute anything and it’s not that expensive. May do that. If I go with it. Still may go with IncuView. Idk yet.

Looks like even my silky bator can fail but think maybe my eggs were not fertile in the end three given up on last one no one is sitting on them for 2 days now

I can’t wait to try the eggs!! And roasted quail sounds good. But you would probably need a quail per person, right? And that’s good to know!! Hopefully mine are too if/when I get them.

In my opinion you need at least 2 quail per person if you want to be full.
