Thank you though, I hope so too!! And yeah, for sure. It just came up so fast too. Idk.

And thanks!! Checked it again this morning and it is still running high so I think I’m going to pick up another thermometer somewhere else to be sure. Though I should clarify, the reading on the actual incubator, like the built in one, says it is at the right temp, but my Brinsea spot check which I stick in the vent and leave it a few minutes to let it settle down says it is about 2 degrees too high. So I’m thinking I need a third tie breaker thermometer and possibly order another Brinsea in case mine is faulty. I also think I will buy a hygrometer somewhere today because I am not sure I trust the built in one. Especially since it was reading 63% this morning. Shouldn’t it have gone down overnight not up???

And yeah, I think my other mistake was that I just took a small mug and poured like a cup of water into it ha filled two rings, starting with the outer, and the outer ring is huge, goes around the whole incubator, so I think that might be my problem. It did say to start with the outer ring but I think I may need to start with the inner ring.
Get the spot check probe to egg level in the incubator

Count me in if not too late. I may or may not put in some fbcm or showgirl or oegb or mf eggs. If not, i will let you know.

Try making sure the spot check is at egg level. When I checked mine it was reading hot farther up in the bator but when I moved the spot check probe to egg level it was only off by like .2.

Also there's a setting you can change on the incubator based on the average room temp.

Thank you both. I did try to get it at egg level before I turned it on and it seemed to still be reading high no matter where in the incubator I had it. But quite a few times I did have it fairly high and like just up in the air so that probably influences. I will try to get it lower. I tried to and even tried setting it kind of on the egg trays (but not touching) but it was hard to move it around in there through the little hole lol

Oh and I already turned the setting for room temp down to 65-70 as opposed to the 70-80 setting. But I’m not really sure what the room temp option does? Because there’s also an incubator temperature setting? And what does temp cal do? It says it changes the reading but does it change actual temp??
