I'm planning to join the hatchalong using my new Harris Farms nurture right incubator! I'll be hatching a mix, focusing on my bantam cochin, ameraucana and EE. This will be my third hatch using an incubator but I've never used an incubator with a clear view of the eggs which is exciting!
I don’t think I could eat them
I think I want them for pets and eggs, hence the big focus on the cool/rare feather and egg colors rather than more production based lines or jumbo meat ones.

I raise my quail for meat eggs and pets. I love the eggs. I like roasted quail. My quail that I keep are very friendly.

As I understand it, and based on the meat color, Coturnix are all dark meat, even the A&Ms which many people think are white meat. All quail are generally considered dark meat although some will argue the breast is a combination of the two.
There is supposed to be a white meat Bobwhite variety but I've never researched them. I read that Coturnix generally have a greater meat to bone ratio than Bobs so we went with those.
