Well the temp in my incubator went up to 103 last night, oops. Do you guys think that would kill the duck eggs?
I incubate with a still air incubator at 102 degrees F for my duck eggs. I guess it would depend on your incubator. I would not loose hope or give up just yet. Ducks can be pretty tolerant. You should be able to tell in a few days when you candle the eggs if they are alive or not.

It would be close depending on how accurate the thermometer is. 104 is lethal.

Adjust and candle in several days
Thanks guys, I will upload pictures of them in a few days.

Pheasants, mallard, goose, turkey, guinea & peafowl...............Time to get the eggs in!

pheasant: 22 to 29 days; set March 22nd - March 29th
mallard (derived) duck, goose, turkey, guinea, peafowl: 28 days to hatch; set March 23rd

This is a perfect example of chicken math! Advanced at that!

The universe wants you to have pheasants....of course keep him and get a female too!

It’s funny you say that. I’ve looked into pheasants in the past but never “pulled the trigger.”

Well, I hate to do it but I'm dropping out of the hatch. Things didn't line up the way they were supposed to and I won't be able to get eggs until around the end of April. So I'll just be getting chicks when the time comes.

I wish everyone the best and hope everyone's eggs arrive intact with great hatch rates!

Question. I turned my incubator on today to make sure it would work. It has been on for a few hours. So my question is how do I get the humidity down? I have no water in the incubator and right now its at 65%. I live in Louisiana so we have high humidity here. I know to add water to get it up but I'm not sure on how to get in down. Its a still air incubator. Thanks

Give it more time to see if the humidity goes down.

You could move the incubator into a closet and use a small dehumidifier. Chances are good that the humidity will go down though on its own

Did you calibrate your hygrometer?
