Happy Friday Morning all. Hope everyone that got that storm lastnight weathered it well. Here's what it looks like here:

A view towards the chicken and duck coops. mostly ice but theres a couple inches of snow under that.

Have a great Friday!!

Welcome to all the new folks joining us!

Alright guys, I'm fixin' (technical word in Alabama) to buy a new thermo/hygro-meter. Does everyone agree that the Brinsea Spot Check is the one to go with or is there something better? I have four cheap ones and don't trust any of them.
The Spot Check if fantastic. My hatches are right on time and it's very rare I have any late quitters. Everything viable hatches.
How do you sign up for the hatch-a-long?
You just did.

Looks pretty with your red coops!

For those of you looking for temp/hygrometers you might Condsider this one.

They have them for less than $10 on Amazon. I have several of them all over the house and use them in my incubators. They match my brinsea spot check right on for temp. I guessI  can't garauntee humidity accuracy, but if I use two they read the same. In any case I've had good hatches with them.

I use one, too. Got it at a big home improvement store. Just wish temp went to tenths.

You can always do the salt test to test the humidity. That way if it is off you just add or subtract to the number it is reading.
