It's a good thing I don't have any fertile eggs or I would end up pulling out my bators....
... and I already have TOO MANY CHICKENS!
Well I'm sure Kathy or myself could rectify THAT problem. Dealing with your wife though............you're on your own.

If someone would have told me I would get so attached to chickens I would have laughed them silly.

but now I am having a hard time getting over that hump to processing.... some good words of encouragement are needed for when its time!! and that be in a month!
Animal lover here too.

We have processed some spare roosters. You definitely can't name them - once you know they are not sticking around, distance yourself from them mentally. I can't do the killing (DH does that), but I do everything after that. I look at it as they had a better life here for 6 months than the grocery store chickens get for their 8 weeks of life.

I know a few people that raise meat rabbits. I think I'd have a hard time distancing myself from a rabbit.

roos dont count so you obviously have more room than you thought

I am to old for chaperoneing our church lock in. It's 5 in the morning and have 3 hours to go.I am tired been up since 5 this morning. Well yesterday. 24 hours no sleep is killing me .I am only 37
I am 37 and refuse to do the lock ins. I would be REALLY cranky by 2 or 3, so they're better off without me. DD goes every year for Girl Scouts, and then sleeps the entire next day.

this is a church event where we have about 150 teenagers boys and girls. We have food, games, live band, and a message for them. They spend the night and are locked in. No phone, nothing but interaction with other kids same ages. Where we all come corporately together to praise and worship, to glorify God. Awesome to see lives changed!
AMEN & AMEN
Recipe anybody? At least a time & temp for these little cuties?
x2 ????
You know sugar cookie dough would be awesome! it would spread more but you can add pink and purple and ALL kinda colored sugar!! how pretty to boot!!
I'm going to the grocery store this morning, and I'm gonna see what doughs/cookie doughs might work. I'll post when they're done.

GOOD MORNING ALL

Two of my turkeys are meant for eating, but my mom named them when they were little. I'm kind of glad she did, even if they're still going to be processed in the near future. I felt worse about treating them like an unimportant animal than I do with loving them and giving them a good life while they're here. At least I will have the satisfaction of knowing that I took care of them to the best of my abilities

awwww I want white Scovy!!

My boyfriend says no ducks, no geese

So last night I told him that I figure that means no peafowl or penguins, either. And then I told him that that leaves emus or ostriches

More than likely, I will end up having pheasants at some point.
