I was interested in doing this, this is my first time. I have a question though. We are going to be on vacation until the 12th of March. We are picking up some eggs in TN while on vacation and having others shipped to set with them as well. Is it ok if we start on the 12-13th, instead of the 9th?

Happy Friday Morning all. Hope everyone that got that storm lastnight weathered it well. Here's what it looks like here:

A view towards the chicken and duck coops. mostly ice but theres a couple inches of snow under that.

Have a great Friday!!

Note to Self: It's probably time to stop hatching when.....You've just turned your babies Pack-N-Play into a brooder.

Isn't a Pack-N-Play a brooder?

Oh wait, you meant "human" babies..............

Yeah, I think they really like that they can see out all sides too. The best part is, a fitted crib sheet acts as a perfect lid, LOL! (No worries, there is no heat lamp, these babies are pretty well feathered in.) Come on Spring, these babies are ready for the great outdoors!

Ok just picked up some eggs that are fresh but have been refrigerated for atleast 24 hrs you think they'll be ok after they warm up?

Not a problem - you'll just be a bit late in the hatching excitement. Welcome!
