You're a pretty young lady. Why was I thinking you were older? You're a baby! With a cute baby goat. Thanks for all you do on here. Love ya lady bug!

You just did! And, not tricky yet, but will get a lot more busy!

Please let me know what kind of light you find to see into the green and blue's, I have several of them and olives in the incubator right now. I have used two different flashlights, one MAG and one LED, I have used a 100 w bulb in a bird house...(long story), but I still am not able to see in. But I keep trying...good luck on the rest of you eggs, I will be 4 days behind you.

The candler is a high intensity Brinsea. It is worth the cost. I ues a Cannon elph 100 to take the pictures and videos.

Two things that I have found to be essential for hatching:

Brinsea Spot Check thermometer
Brinse high intensity Ova View

Save up your egg money and buy them.

ron, do you always candle pointy end down?

I dont use golf balls i just let her own eggs buuild up. Once the nest is full she will start sitting. When she goes to eat ill do a switcheroo and put the eggs i want hatched in. That way they all start incubating on the same day.
YAY! I need my silkie girl to go broody or I cant do this hatch!!!! UUUGHHHHH she was just broody 5 weeks ago. im so mad! do you think she could go back under her mother influence by the 29th?

I need my Cochin to go broody. Or my Sumatra. :/ Or one of my other chickens!

Yep same. If you can make her go broody... Tell me your trick!

I have two sets of eggs in two different bators in lock down. I have a pip in each bator. Of course..I have a NN that has pipped at the wrong end! Man, I really don't like it when that happens.

Only for the videos. I usually leave the eggs in the holders and candle from the big end.

I would put the brinsea over the spot where the two is to check the air cell and the condition of the veins. if they did not look right, I take them out and candle from the bottom and the side to see if the embryo was dead. I had two quit at day 12 last weak. The veins go away, a dark smudge shows up inside and the egg liquid goes clear.

I crack those open to see what the embryo looks like.

Our hatch is complete, I really need a better candler for our dark eggs!

Last Brahma welcomed to the world

I think I will name these two Peck and Skits watch vid and you will see why!
