First, I just HAVE to ask chicken pickin what was with the orange balloons in the photo of the hens... I can't believe nobody else asked!
Second, a friend and I went to opening day at Daffodil Hill, just outside of Volcano (California).
Those are just a couple of blossom photos I took with my cell phone. We got there as the place opened, beautiful in the early morning light.

That is another breed I wish I could get ahold of.....I didn't even finish reading the rest of the thread because i saw Bielefelder lol- Here is my boy King- he is huge, the pictures don't do him justice. and he is maybe a year, i am pretty sure I got him in march last year. the hens aren't much bigger than normal hens but the roosters are definitely huge! and he is fairly docile too, he never starts fights (and I have 7 other roosters) and he even lets me pet him. I am sure you know what bielefelders look like but for anyone who doesn't know he is right in the middle of the photo.
