I love reptiles, and have had soo many. If I hadn't gone the way of chickens, I'd be addicted to hatching reptiles for sure! My 2 favorites of all time...The Egyptian Uromastyx & Prehensile-Tailed Skink. Still may get back into them one day!

Wow, so cool looking!
My new pattern is to candle only on lockdown to remove the clears. I know, it's hard to leave them alone when you are first starting out, but it gets easier!
Oh my goodness oz..I had no idea it was so good! That's great!my last 6 local hatches have been >85%
today was 33/36 we are setting 40ish eggs every 4 days and I have over 120 chicks growing for the chicken mission
viability on the shipped eggs looks good
75% of chicken and duck made it through candling and are viable
60% of turkey and just 1/5 goose
quail chukar and partrige are a crap shoot
So I am skipping over my orpingtons and rocks and all my pure bred lovelies so I can take a whack at hatching my RSLs new eggs.
I have been getting 2 eggs a day on average.
I asked my husband how many eggs I should collect each day for setting for the hatch a long.
He said "all of them from now until then."
Perhaps he doesn't understand how this works. I have around 150 chicks coming on Friday. We do not live on a farm. I don't think I want to set that many.
How many should I set and when should I collect? Any opinions appreciated. I'm terrible at estimating these things. I always end up hatching wayyy too many and while I love babies, I hate having to feed everyone![]()
