I only have 4 mallard eggs set for the hatch a long I just went to put more water in the trays so i figured i could candle them and all 4 are fertile and looking good!!! I used my galaxy s4 to candle them i downloaded a flashlight app and it is extremely bright and worked well for candling.

I really really do not understand the postal service. My eggs are coming from Florida to Alabama...little over a 2 hour drive. But they went west of the seller to go north of me. So they left on Tuesday and hopefully get here tomorrow, that's 4 days.

Should have just gone and gotten them myself...grrrrr.

I had finch hatching eggs shipped once from Maryland to California. They got to Sacramento, CA within a day, but then went to Redding, then back to Sacramento, then finally to me here in Paradise. By the time they arrived on the 3rd day they were no longer viable. Fortunately they were part of an effort to increase availability of bloodlines in other areas so we were swapping eggs. Since they did not meet the 2 day guaranteed, even the shipping was refunded. Interestingly though, when I shipped from CA to Maryland, the eggs arrived early and 3 of 6 hatched.

Mike, have we beaten 300 yet? Here's what I did tonight. I have a boatload of lemons, and I saved a recipe a long time ago for Lemoncello. I've never made it, and thought, what the heck! So tonight I started the process. I tell ya, my friends are already talking about inviting me over for dinner.

Might be a silly question But what is Lemoncello?

We are having rain. That's a good thing..a bit of snow fell last night, but it's rain this morning. We need all the moisture we can get. We are hoping it is really snowing in those mountains right now. We are always saying in the spring..bring on the rain in the valley, but please let it be snowing in the mountains. That snow run off is our water for every thing down here in the valley through the summer.

LOL!!! I have a GS4 too and that would never have occured to me! What is the name of the app? Do you get a lot of light bleeding around?

I had some eggs come today. Some that I ordered and didn't think about them being in the Easter Hatch A Long. he he..but they are now. Waiting on my other two orders. Hopefully they will come by tomorrow. They are both coming from the east from me...waaay out there, kind of worried that they won't get here by Sat. I know how our sorting facility is a couple of towns over. The eggs usually..take three days from the east if they were mailed out before 2 in the afternoon their time. See how I have this all figured out? I did ask them to mail them by Tues..now come on P.O.!
