My girls are cracking me up. Every time I go out to see them they squat like they would for a rooster. A shame I can't have one, but I live in town.
I'm going to pick up a few golf balls today to hopefully get one of the gals to go broody for me.

I agree. Heritage RIR's are very friendly from what I understand. Hatchery Production Reds (also called RIR) are not friendly.

I must have lucked out, I have one Hatchery RIR and she is the sweetest hen, she always jumps up and wants to be held and petted. She is however, very small and not what I was expecting for a RIR, but reading threads I see there is a difference between the Heritage and Hatchery.

Does any one know exactly how to post a vid on this thread? :heTrying to post a wiggle test of the emu eggs before they get to big.)

I guess I am in with Muscovy duck eggs I set 7 today at about noon. Was not planning on them but they came with the large batch of chicken eggs I bought :) are we supposed to do something special when we set something for the hatch-along?

Waiting for the eggs I am going to hatch to be laid...
