Right place right time...DH went to the Sandlapper Poultry Show in Barnwell, SC. The Cream Leg Bar association had a raffle for fertile eggs. He did not win them, but he mentioned to the woman manning the both that he thought they were really pretty chickens. She in turn asked if he would like two because someone who was to buy them did not show up. He asked how much she wanted and she said he could have them for free. So off he went to find a box to take them home. They are both pullets and nearing laying age.

WOW your not kidding about being in the right place at the right time. That is a GREAT find. Congrats on the 2 new pullets. Do you have pics of them?

DH took one, but it is very poor! I can barely make them out. He has little to no eye for photography...to impatient. I will try to see if he can take more time to get a better one to share. It stinks he is at the farm in SC and I am in DE. When I am taking pictures, I always take multiple shots to ensure I get a good one. That is what is nice about a digital camera. You don't waste frames like you did with film.

So I have been thinking for about a week of maybe having the emu eggs hatch on a live stream like u-stream, any thoughts?

yes yes yes! I u-stream everything, even my boring old barnyard mix hatches. I have one going now lol

Export the bookmarks or favorites as an html file and save to an external drive. On the new computer, import them.

A new computer would be just as usable on dial up--it would need a modem of course. We had a Professor that was not dial up with a new Dell until last year.

I'd email myself a file full of links. That email will float in the cloud until your next computer is up and running. In theory that is...

I got work done today




Cleaned the lower level, and the garage.
FINALLY got the chicks out of the closet and into the garage,
cleaned the big grow out and serama shed, and now I cant breathe

to the point I may have to break out the kids nebu I really need to where a mask when doing coops. When does one learn?

I guess I am in with Muscovy duck eggs I set 7 today at about noon. Was not planning on them but they came with the large batch of chicken eggs I bought are we supposed to do something special when we set something for the hatch-along?

I believe you pm the Host of the Hatchalong with the number and pic of the eggs you are setting. You are supposed to keep it secret from the rest of us because there is a prize for who guesses he closest to the exact number of how many eggs are set.
