Okay.....where are the peafowl? I know somebody set some. I thought mine were always the first to lay :) Maybe someone in FL?

All you folks talking about stuffed cabbage and chicken soup made me hungry! Good thing I have leftover nacho soup - so tasty on a cold day!

In the final days of collecting for hand-off eggs. I might actually be able to fill up my incubator for the HAL with the discards, plenty of off colored eggs collected the last two days. I have one still-air incubator I use as a hatcher - I guess I *could* also incubate in if I wanted to hand turn eggs...I wonder how many I could fit in there...it would be an experiment, right? Of course, I'd need more eggs...

Oh and Im going to be doing the same thing. I have set too many eggs already and still need to set eggs for this hatch and the Cinco De Mayo hatch so I plan to use my hatcher as an incubator and hand turn that batch.

It's there, don't ya see it?

Kidding........I edited it. I guess I did NOT have enough coffee this morning.

So I'm new to hatching and I have a question I have a LG 9200 incubator (still air and no auto turner) So would it be a bad thing if I turned the eggs at 7am 7pm and 9pm? That would be three times daily? Any help is appreciated

nacho soup? Do tell !

It is one of those open to modifying recipes: in a 6qt crock pot put 1-2 cups shreaded cheddar cheese, 1 eight ounce block of cream cheese (or two if you like it rich), 2 cans rotel, plus any other add ins (I like to add in a can of diced tomatoes and hot sauce, sometimes spinach). Brown 2 pounds ground beef with one chopped onion (and anything else that may need pre-cooking you want to add - peppers, etc), drain fat, add to the crockpot. **edit: I forgot 4 cups beef broth go in here too** Add a half tsp salt and the same amount black pepper. Cook on low stirring ocassionally, until it is all mixed. Optional: serve in a bowl with some fine chopped lettuce.

Sorry for the formatting - on my phone :)

I sooo hope I get to see the next one! Corny Caleb, you need to speak with the egg and request a more reasonable hatch time, please?

You can fit 3 dozen + but I wouldn't recommend it with hand turning. I did it last year and hand turning was a pain in the butt. 2 dozen is okay, but I prefer no more than 18. Much easier.

Turn them when you can. They will be fine!

They do not even need to be turned at all the first seek. The last week, day 17 to hatch not at all. Day 7 to 14 are the important days for turning.
