thats funny!!We have taught our children gun safety as well. Boy Scouts is really good with firearm safety as well. My 14 year old is looking forward to Shotgun shooting at Summer Camp this year.
The last time we took our kids shooting, my DH gave me his Colt 45 handgun (which I have only shot once) and told me to go practice with it. Due to having children and busy lives, I hadn't shot a gun in quite some time. So I went over to the handgun range, and nearby the 2 range masters were chatting. I walked past them and got ready and shot my target. When I was done, I collected my tight pattern of bullseye holes in the target and started to walk back to my DH. One of the men asked me how often I practice my shooting. I replied that I haven't shot in 12 years. Their faces just about dropped to the ground. So, I go back to the kids and hand the gun to my husband, so he could practice. I showed him my target and he left to go shoot. He came back and said yeah yeah yeah and showed me his target that was not nearly as good. Then he said, "those guys are STILL talking about you over there." They told him - Man, you don't want to tick her off!![]()
Sounds like a plan.My son is a little older and probably better at it then me. He is wanting to try out for the JROTC rifle team at school. Fingers Crossed!
