Singing Incubator From Hell Update: Still movement in some of the eggs, though it is getting much harder to see. The humidity has been wicked high and being in GA it is already very high so the air cells have not grown much since the 7th! I don't think I will even add water to the thing at lock down at this point. Would you?

What do the directions say?
I consulted an expert, and received this answer:

Should I add water at lock down to the Singing Incubator from hell?

Well I suppose I have come to grips with it enough to talk about it now. My Wife (Jo) beats me everytime with a rifle. Handgun I can take her fairly easy. With a shotgun we are fairly close. I can take her on traps and anything smaller than 00 buckshot but when it comes to slugs she typically has the better shot. We have recently started teaching the kids (Be) and (Le) about gun safety and they have both shot my .22 with assistance. Not trying to get into a gun debate here but my logic and mentality is that if they are in the house I want everyone to know about the safety and operation thereof. I believe issues arise with a lack of knowledge and being uncomfortable with them. Proud to say my wife has shot all of my guns, knows how to load/unload, and knows simple mechanics and operation. Disassembly and cleaning is a different story but we will get there.
Thats exactly how I feel. Assembly and disassembly will definitely be last to learn and saftey and operation first on the list. But I expect them to know thier gun up and down before they use it to kill anything but a target.

Awesome!

If there is still condensation in it, then do not add any more water. I really want you to hatch some! You have a great outlook on the whole not-so-great experience!

What guage shotgun? I've shot our 12 guage twice and it hurts like heck. (even holding it tight) I need to practice more with it.

I too have shot all of our guns - some are his, and some are mine. Yes, he does the cleaning. I clean the house, he cleans the guns. My least favorite is the 30-06. Ouch, even holding it tight to my shoulder, I still get a nice welt. My favorite is a 1903 Brittish Enfield that my grandmother gave me. My great-grandfather was a champion competition marksman in Australia, and this was his rifle that he used to shoot in competitions. (I have his trophy too) It is extremely rare, as it was converted to shoot .22 caliber.

We have a 12 guage sawed off pistol grip. I cant hit the broad side of a barn with it. The first time I shot it, I dropped it because it slammed into my ribs, the second time almost the same thing still slammed into my ribs and there was no third time. Needless to say my whole right side was bruised afterward. At least if I need to use it all I will have is a broken rib or two.

It is a 12 gauge also. Its a super mag and the 3 1/2" shell was a bit much on the recoil. She handles the shorter shells no problem though. Very cool on the Enfield. Nice that you have the story and trophy to go along with it. Its one thing to buy cool guns. Its totally different to have them handed down from generation to generation.

Thanks so much! My 4 children have such hope and it really helps. I get to vent my frustrations here with you all and that helps too! I have shaken the water out of the thing, wiped it all down a few times now to make it as dry as I can. I can't understand how it keeps getting so wet in there.... as I mentioned however I have 4 children and I have found my 6 year old daughter curled up in that closet with the eggs.... she had hatched 5 times before and was in charge a few times of helping add water. I dearly hope she has not taken it upon herself to add water when we have made sure to tell all the kids not to this time. She really loves the eggs! Thankfully she has been sleeping next to the duckling brooder and I am so thankful to have them distracting her and they love her company. Next time we are getting a standard incubator! Does anyone want the singing incubator from hell? It will really help anyone who is having issues with chicken math I think! Sadly.

I am trying hard to play catch up as fast as I can before my almost non existent hughesnet takes a poop again.

Today was day 17 for my HAL eggies or is it day 16!
I candled and moved them all into a coolerbator for hatching because I needed to set for orders in the cabinet. I had pulled the CCLxPolish as they are still not fertile.

Remaining in the cabinet cooler are my shipped HRIR eggs, some lovely duckie eggs
