It should still be from my EE Roo and Cockoo Maren Hens. I had given her all Maren hen eggs except one from my buff leghorn hen. But that is the one who was the most injured I believe...
I only have one coop and then they free range at will. I am a little scared to give them back now.
I am a little worried for another hen who has eggs due to hatch tomorrow. I don't want these first two hens to try and fight for the 3rd girls chicks.... Just not sure what to do...
Last year I had just one broody. A California White Hen. She hatched 2 of 5 eggs. She left both of them as soon as they were out of the egg on a cool day and they died.
I really think these ladies would have been good momma's if I had a way to keep them apart.... Just not sure how I could do that yet.

Could you put them in dog crates for a bit.

Stay tuned, we are still working on contests!

Is this an internal pip?

And I think I have 5 or 6 that have internally pipped or are very close to doing it. Now to pray that they all externally pip soon and hatch quickly. I've been waiting on these babies for a long time.
is it at lowest dip in air cell? it looks like it may just be pushing on membrane, not sure but it should be in air cell more if internal, but depending on air cell it may not be able to pip higher into it.. not sure, do u hear clicking? let them do their thing

So I am calling it. Had the bantams in the same incubator as the LF. But the bantams just didn't want to hatch. Also only 1 shipped egg hatched (a LF), the others were either not fertile or bantams.

So my final tally...

4 RIR/Lt Brahma
3 Delware
1 Mohawk RIR (shipped egg & 38 hour pip to hatch)
1 d'Uccle

9 Total Hatched

That air cell looks huge! what was weight loss on that one? its so hard to judge with images, I am sorry! I cant tell air cell dip or anyuthing looking at the photo, remember with draw down you see more body push into the air cell at the back... but its still under membrane so it appears pushed up inside, a beak you should notice moves side to side somewhat.... ugghhhh hard to explain I am sorry!

OK my total count is 55 which kinda sucks if you start with my original 118, but not too bad if you start from the 79 i had once i pulled clears and you remember that almost all of them were eggs shipped during temperatures far below freezing.
3 silver duckwing
2 turkeys
3 chocolate old english bantam
2 black copper marans
3 ameraucana
2 lf frizzle cochin mix (from my flock)
1 blue marans
1 black mottled belgian d'anver
1 blue mottled begin d'anver
2 wheaten marans
2 splash silkie
4 araucana
3 sizzles
1 blue laced red wyandotte
5 bielefelders (possibly mixes- from my yard, 4 look like bielefelders one doesn't)
8 egyptian fayoumis
4 exchequer leghorn
8 that i must have forgotten to write down when they hatched - oops lol - seem to remember having 2 olive eggers hatch, and the rest are just the breeds above.

SO not the best hatch rate, but I am ok with it. the biggest hit i think was the araucanas- I bought 25 of them but the package arrived severely smashed and only 4 of them wound up hatching.

It is also a hooray in sca comicon d and d and other nerd like circles!
I knew that. It was just the first thing that popped in my mind when I saw Huzzah since I've canoed that stream at least 50 times. Crystal clear, fast, good fishing and lots of gravel bars for camping.
It's insanely crowded on summer weekends but weekdays and winter are great.

///////////////////////////////////////////

My temps were clearly too low. I had one chick hatch on time. 2 more are out with at least 2 pipping and I'm 18 hours, 50 minutes past due.
I had planned on replacing my controller before this hatch but didn't get around to it. It stabilized at 99.5 (measured) with the crappy controller set at 88. Then I just pretty much ignored it cause I've been too busy.

That is the lowest dip in the air cell. I don't hear anything. I just took some pictures. Mostly because I had an issue in my hatcher so I took advantage.

Are you talking to me? I don't watch my weights. But it's not as big air looks. The egg is much bigger then it looks I also have baby hands. Think XS gloves.
