What is this contest all about is it people incubating their eggs

It's mostly a bunch of people having fun. We all set at the same time if we can on whatever date is posted for what you're hatching and try to hatch the Saturday before Easter. There are a lot of contests to enter, but it's mostly about the fun.

I'm kind of curious, but why the day before Easter?

Sounds like lots of fun

Hello,
And welcome to all the new people who are joining in on the fun of this hatch-a-long.

Welcome abroad and let's all have some fun.

here is my broody girl and her new brood. She had been on the nest for a little over two weeks so I gave her a SR of assorted feather leg bantams last night. Not sure what she has but this is what they look like:

Any one want to make guesses...Pretty sure I have a mix of Cochin and Brahma but all I really know is they aren't silkies.

They sure are cute and fluffy. They do look like cochins but I've never had Brahmas.

that sounds like so much fun these contests I'm afraid of getting a bunch of roosters

I used to be afraid of all the roosters I would end up with also it made me nervous to hatch and then get stuck with so many that I wouldn't know what to do. Now the thought barely bothers me. We raise our extra males up to put in the freezer to feed out family. What ever we don't happen to process I have never had any problems selling the extras off. Ive never had to give them away for free, people want roosters more than most people think.
