Turns out that the pump is working fine, it was a "user error". I had the tube looped around the rotor in the wrong direction so instead of pumping out water, it was pumping in air from the incubator. What a relief! Now I don't have to worry about the Brinsea at least.

My other incubator "(PI-24)" is funky. Its water channels are so wide, that even 1 tablespoon of water is added, humidity goes up to 45-50% but gradually over a 12-18 hr period, goes down to 30% as water dries out. So I am thinking that while I am having issues keeping the humidity stable around 35% right now, this would be a great incubator during lockdown because the humidity easily goes to 75-80% if you fill up all water channels.
Glad you got it working fine now.

Important!

Now that the Guess How Many Eggs Will Be Set Contest is closed, we can start getting the actual number of eggs set.

When you are finished setting all of your eggs, please post in this thread how many total eggs you set within the +/- 2 days of the set dates for each type of fowl. If you did not set any eggs, please post that as well.

Lets get these numbers recorded so we can get the next contest going!

Recording these numbers is a HUGE job! Thanks @mlmddh . Lets make it easy on him!

The frizzle eggs are developing.

The odds were against us since they were collected in the last week of February, storaged until all collected, then shipped and in my frig for another week to set for HAL. A three week span.

Amazing how eggs can be both so hardy and fragile.

Quote: I am glad you got it working! Just a tip: I open my incubator quite often to candle eggs which can cause the humidity sensor to get a false reading and turn the pump on before it has time to get a good reading again. The newer one is better than my older one at waiting a bit. So, whenever I open up the incubator to take the egg tray out or put it back in, I pinch the tubing to stop the flow of the water for a minute or two until the reading levels out. Otherwise, the pump may saturate the material inside and it will take quite a while for the humidity to go down again.

You have the patience of a saint! I have candled 3 times already.

xs 2 lol I have only candled all of them once...but I have spot checked....and so far positive 40/42 developing nicely and 1 looks like certain bloodring and the other (which is cracked, and I have no idea when or how) is iffy looking. I think it quit about the same time I noticed the crack (about 2 ago). I am so excited though. I have NEVER had 100% fertile eggs. This is the first time I bought eggs from this lady!

Question: Does anyone have any experience with the black Japanese bantams? She had put a couple of them in for me but said that they have a fatal allel and 1/4 die in the last 2 days of incubation. Wondering what other's experience is with these.

I've never hatched them, but yes, Japanese have a fatal gene.
