We have just the one olive egger out, but we do have 2 bcm's that have pipped. I am not going to move the chick into the brooder until he gets some company.

Ohhhh, I am so sorry for your losses. My last two hatches were much like yours, and I think my current lot in lockdown is going the same way. I am near devastation, but I can still watch and worry. There is good help here on BYC. Do you WANT to hatch? Can you save up to buy a Brinsea and just be done with all the variables? I am thinking about that, but one of my father's genes is telling me to not stop trying to re-invent the wheel. (He was a civil engineer). Hope you get help and good luck. Laurie in Berthoud

I hear ya. Sorry about your hatch.

I'm sorry you have bad luck with your incubator. I use the LG 9200 and I usually have a good hatch. I will end up with over 30 this HAL. Some are still hatching. I did make adjustments. But that is some of the challenge in hatching that I enjoy. I'm always trying something different to try and improve.

Thanks :).

i lost most of my eggs to incubator temp spikes, i have what was left moved to my new cabinet incubator. i did two batches for the EHL, on time and late-of my on time ones i have one external pip, and see another internal. i am worried about one of my shipped eggs-i have it upright in the hatching tray-but the membrane is down to the middle of the egg and looks very liquidy -i am hoping the baby wont drown. i can see it moving in there but worry it may be liquid inside the collapsed membrane ...

I just heard something that sounded like a crack in the back room. Thought I was hearing things. Didn't see nothing, but I decided to check my eggs while I was back there. I can see 3 of the 4 have pipped and I could hear chirping. Really exciting, didn't expect to see anything this soon. And I listened for a minute, definitely intermittent chirping.

My second egg finally hatched. At 3 am this morning I had two pips. I have more pips now and some rocking eggs that chirp. This is really taking a long while. They are all Serama eggs and today is day 20. So far it looks like it will be a good hatch.

12 pages behind in 1 day?! You all talk too much! Lol just kidding :) this is the first time I'll be hatching a few bantams (OEGB) with my LF eggs too. Will the little bantam babies be ok in the incubator and brooder with the LF chicks too or will they get trampled?

I guess I'm going to have to postpone lockdown. :hit I've had an exhausting day and I can barely keep my eyes open. And I'm not even home. :( I'm so afraid I'll drop eggs while moving or candling. I guess I'll unplug the turner, and work on everything else in the morning.
