I will atleast hatch Quail Antwarp Belgiums that I breed, likely Naked Necks because my head rooster loves them, and hopefully Mille Fleur D'uccles

I'm in if I have a broody in time. Fingers crossed

Me too only I need to have two...one for my chicks I ordered from Urch and one for the HAL Good Luck to you!

I keep trying to get my hubby to let me get the Orchard Mantis.

Those are beautiful! I want to hatch some of those in the HAL too!

I have a tiny broody right now. Mama is a MF D'uccle Daddy a silkie and she has been playing at going broody since December. She finally took the plunge for real about two weeks ago and I didn't have the right fertiles to give her at the time so I went to the feed store to get 3 feather legged bantams for her...somehow I came home with 6.

two that look like they may be mottled, two that look like they may be silver laced and two that look like they could be black or birchen or barred...time will tell but they are so tiny and so cute!

Can't get an incubator? You can be a part of this, make some comments, have fun reading. Can't enter contests if you aren't hatching, but hey, you may learn some things while joining in the fun and informative comments.
There are usually a ton of contests that open to all of BYC. It's just the ones dealing with the hatch that only participants can enter.

I have got my husband to like my chickens and even listen to me ramble on about them without rolling his eyes but he likes them outside lol. Still working on getting him ok with chicks inside. My game hen go broody pretty early it seems about a month after laying and they started laying last week :) I also have a red sexlink that has been acting like she might go broody

Hello Everyone!

I wasn't sure I would be able to join the Hatch-along this year, but because of the timing of Easter this year, it works out perfectly!

We moved to a new home last December with 10 acres of land to work with, and we are VERY excited to start filling it up with gardens, cows, goats, pigs, and...of course... CHICKENS!!!!! We brought along our now 3 laying flocks of Barred & Blue Barred Plymouth Rocks, Black & Blue Copper Marans, and Buff Orpingtons (witha few EE's and other mixes thrown in - about 50+ hens & 3 roosters all together.

I will probably be hatching some of our own eggs from the three flocks listed above, and I also just got a beautiful Blue Partridge Silkie Rooster for my Partridge Silkie Pullet that I hatched last year, so I hope to hatch a few Silkie eggs too if they co-operate...

I am also REALLY hoping to find some pure Wheaten Ameraucana hatching eggs to start my own flock of true Blue egg layers... but I don't know if I will be able to get them in time for the hatch-along because mid-March is kind of iffy for shipping eggs up to Michigan.

So please count me in! I am VERY EGG-cited to be joining the fun once again!

I will be setting some Lavender and Jubilee Orpingtons.

I have Lavender Orp hatching eggs available if anyone if interested and doesn't have local access.
