They might need some things the other chickens don't.They can't really fly, so maybe making lower perches for them . I have only one frizzle, and, for some reason, the older hens pick on him , pulling out his tail and crest feathers. I don't know if it's because he looks different or what.
He can't jump to even the foot high perch. He sleeps all by himself on the floor of the coop. I was worried because of it getting so cold, and him not having any one to cuddle with. I got a heater called Cozy Legs and wedged it again a wall in the coop. I hope that's enough, it's supposed to get down to 3° this week .

Mine is somewhat of an outcast, but maybe that would be different if I had more than one.
Awe..maybe I shouldn't get any then or wait awhile until I learn more about raising chickens.

I would like to join! I will have a brooder full of week olds then, if all goes right, but you can never have too many chicks on Easter!

I would love to find some lavender orps, or any kind of speckled chickens to hatch- anyone out there have something like that? LOL

I have a small clock of bantam cochins with frizzle genes if anyone would need eggs!

I Might be interested in some eggs. What colors do you have?

Count me in! Gonna probably set serama eggs since that's the only breed I have both and hen and rooster from!

Even my elderly cat is ready! She sleeps on top of the warm incubator all night in the spring and fall. I didn't have it running more than an hour before she hopped onto the lid....

My cats tend to dig into the lid when they can find it.

my cat would get his butt kicked if he got up on my incubator! I'd be terrified that he'd either mess up the temperature or break it.

My incubator is built like a tank. The most she can do is block my viewing window. My first incubator was, however, a favorite of our ferret. As soon as the eggs got that nice developing egg smell he would try non stop to get in at them. He never succeeded, but I still designed this one to resist anything he could possibly throw at it. The walls are so thick and heavily insulated that no matter what you put on top, once the temperature is stable and adjusted for the average ambient air temperature of the season, it doesn't change aside from the normal +/- 0.7 degrees.
