I'm so sorry to hear that. I really hope everything goes well. My youngest brother went in for brain surgery last year and came out of it fine just to find out he had an ulcer in his intestine that ruptured. He went into sepsis and couldn't pull out of it. We miss him every day but the world keeps turning so we keep going. You're an amazing sister and you should be proud of what you can do for them. You'll be surprised what a family can do when they pull together. My best wishes are with your family.

My cousin had Brain surgery last year, and is fine...it took a little physical therapy to get his speech back but otherwise doing well. I am sure it seems hard to keep thinking positive, but it has got to be his turn for a smooth procedure, keep your spirits up! I feel bad he has been through so much!

Can you hatch them for the day after or two?

Yes, hatch them when you can. Some folks are hatching earlier or later so they can make sure they have the Easter day pretty clear of watching over baby chicks.

I hope so too. I can only stay 4 days which is how long he is "suppose to be" in the hospital. DH and my grandsons are going and we'll be staying in a hotel in Chicago the entire time. I want my grandsons to be able to be with my family is why we are all going. usually they stay here and take care of the chickens and other animals.

Praying for you and yours. We have a son in law that has had several brain surgeries. He has a non cancerous tumor where they don't dare take it all out.
Sounds like you have a wonderful sister in law for sure. Bless her heart. And yours! You are taking care of grand children. Wow. Your family ties sound so strong. Hoping your brother gets through this one without any delay!

Hi all right now for the Hatch-a-long I have Maran eggs in the bator they are due to come out a week early. But if all goes well I should be able to set another clutch on the 13th it depends on weather on the shippers end for my next group. The first group is black copper and white the second group is black and blue copper.

Anyone use the Brinsea mini eco. Is the main difference the auto turning feature or is there a disparity in quality as well?

My brother is having brain surgery. With his track record with surgeries there is no telling how long I"ll be gone. My bators are not easy to keep stable and being gone could kill everything in them. The people that take care of my birds when I"m gone I'd rather wasn't in the house. Sad to say but true. I'll have to move all the babies outside to the garage in the grow pen and give them a heat lamp and hope for the best. If it's real cold I could loose younger chicks and I don't want to risk it. I'd hate to bring something into the world to just let it die. So I'd rather wait till I get back to start back up. Right now I'll have chicks a month old when I leave. They will have a better chance than 2 week old babies.

Wow, he's been through an awful lot. This surgery has to be his time for things to go well.
