To all those new to incubating eggs, do not over candle them! That is what I did wrong lol wanted to see the babies move so badly
I candle nightly. I check at least 3-4 eggs. Candling should not compromise your hatch. I learned that one here after my first hatch was a bust and I thought that was the reason. The experienced hatchers told me that even if you candle every night as long as your hands are washed and your gentle with the eggs, and ddn't keep them out longer than 1/2 hour it shouldn't affect your hatch. They were right, that wasn't my problem, the faulty brand new thermometer (I never checked) was the problem. I control myself and like I said, I only spot check, but it's enough to feed my addiction, keeps me intuned to the air cells.

It kind of late in the day, and I figure they arrived at the post office this am? I had got notice for all of my packages saying they had left the post office out for delivery. Right after that, I received a phone call saying my eggs were there. I don't know if my wonderful mail man caught this or what? I would call and confirm they are out and not sitting there.
I received a text message at 6:52 am saying my eggs arrived at the post office at 5:37am. I called as soon as I got the text message and they said my package was already out for delivery. It is now 2:13pm and I haven't received them yet. It is very warm today and I am praying they will still be intact and not too hot.

Once set at 98F, it's pretty stable. It looses heat pretty fast once unplugged though. Humidity stays well too. I think it's a good incubator for the price. Keep me updated on your hatch :).

Only issue is it's pretty difficult to clean.

Thank you!

Your temp outside isn't that bad really, now if the truck has it's door open..that would help. Bet they are fine...waiting to see when you get them!

I candled m mine every night as well!

Here I am with my new bator set up and running and NO EGGS. A lady said she would sell me a dozen and I called her twice, nothing. I don't want to do my eggs they haven't been laying that long. I'm so upset.

Gah! Why are you so far away!? I would gladly part with some!

My 2nd box of eggs I ordered haven't shown up yet

they just vanished somewhere in Ohio, status hasn't been updated in three days!

Not that I have room for them anyway but still!

I know we are reporting anything within a +/- 2 day window of the species set date - but I had a goose nest flood and am attempting to salvage the eggs - when I candled them, they looked to be approximately 4 - 5 days along, which would have put them within the set window for goose. Should I include them if they are viable? (planning on checking them tonight)
Sure, count them.

A picture of the eggs that I set for the HAL.

Making Mike do his math, huh?

I count 54?

Just went out to get eggs and... I might have a broody!! She screamed at me as soon as I walked in the coop and apparently the other hens didn't want to mess with her because they laid their eggs on the floor beside the nest box. If she is broody, that means... SET MORE EGGS!!
Of course it does!

Please, if your egg count changes post the new number in a NEW post. If you edit your original post your update will probably be missed.
Good point! Don't edit your posts!

Ugh, hope you get some eggs soon. You can set all the way until Monday.
