Hmm okay thanks.

Is there a egg hatcher tracker out there? Sometimes I confuse around hatch dates, it'd be neat to go to an app like that and see its day 2 of something.

There is an app called "Hatchabatch", but it counts set day as day 1, so all alerts will be a day early... easy fix is to program your set day the next day and it works great...

No, not a total loss--25% may still hatch. It is a situation where you need to hatch big end up and then work hard with them during hatch.

Incubation needs to be big end up for the entire hatch. I suspect your instagram friends tried broody or laying down incubation with detached air cells.

So...what do you mean work hard with them?

So far ive left the eggs be for 2 days. I set the 16th, so i may start rotating the eggs after tomorrow...first three days of incubation i plan on not rotating them...is this smart, or what would you do?

I have some mixed eggs included with this hatch and I was wondering some odds. I had three roosters. The dominant one sired ALL the chicks in my last batch. Not what I expected so he went to a new home to be the only rooster. Monday will mark the end of week three with Mr. Dominant gone. I have caught one of the other roosters "getting the job done,"

but not the other. Not that he isn't working, I just haven't caught him "in the act" yet.

This is Marbles. He was king of the flock just over two weeks before he disappeared while defending his girls from a predator. All I found of him was a few of his gorgeous tail feathers. I am really hoping for the chicks to be his and bear some resemblance to him. (The hens look nothing like him.) What are the odds of at least a few of the chicks being his with Mr. (former) Dominant's genes still being around?

This is Squeakers a bantam rooster. He is the current king of the flock, but I haven't caught him "in the act" yet. Is there a possibility that some of the chicks could be his also?

I am just so eggcited

I can't wait for these chicks to start hatching

and they aren't even in the incubator yet. They are going in tomorrow. LOL!

I got a farm inovators incubator, I may return it because i can't put my thermometers in. I use two, but they there is no where to put them, unless I can get a rack removed. What does everyone do for theirs?
I set my smaller thermometers on top of the eggs and also I poked a small calibrated meat thermometer just below and off to the left side of the built in one on the lid. I poked it just deep enough to be at the top of the eggs.
