The 6th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!

I have pips in the hatcher! 4 so far. There are 12 in there but I think 2 are clear. They're dark eggs so I didn't toss them, just set them off to the side. They're not due to hatch until tomorrow. I have some black/lavender split hatching eggs arriving today too. I think I'm a hatch-a-holic..... and this is my first season hatching lol.

All of you talking about maple syrup, I'm jealous lol. We were planning to tap or trees this year but we had some issues with other stuff and never managed to buy the tapping equipment. Next year

It's that post nasal drip thing and the resulting congestion. Gross, I know, sorry.

That's funny but I kinda agree. I'd rather pay another $10 or so and have a thermostat that's stable. I've fried lots of eggs with those.

Whenever one has problems with a fairly good incubator, the first 2 recommendations are a guaranteed accurate thermometer and a look at breeder nutrition.

Rural is the only word I couldn't say when I was a kid. Now it sounds close to what it is supposed to but that has taken a half a century.

That's what I use them for. It's a good idea to pre warm eggs even if there are no other egg to be added to.

Can anyone tell me how many days it took you to get your spot check thermometer from Brinsea?

You are best to get an accurate thermometer.  I have the Brinsea spot check and it's accurate to .1 degree.  It's about $30.
