Thanks!! I've been looking for someone who has hatched them before.

Do you happen to remember the egg size? Her first was 36 grams. I haven't weighed the other two but if they're any bigger it's not by much. Did they eventually lay daily? Lagertha is still every other day. It's fine, but hard to gather an ideal clutch.
I didn't weigh them. They were quite small, though. Mine generally lay for 3-5 days in a row and then take a day off. They are really good layers for about 6 weeks and then they go broody. They rival the silkies with how often they go broody. I haven't let one actually hatch eggs yet, but I am hoping one of mine will oblige me at the right time for the HAL so I can give her a try.

Listen young man, i am an old lady and i really want a sign, so go to bed, you have school tomorrow. ;) Just messing with you, you sound like an awesome young man and i wish you the best of luck getting the SECOND sign. First one's mine:D

Lol... Good thing I am on an online school, so more BYC time... Oh so I have a quick story for all of you, so one of the school "coaches" or "advisors" that are our people that help us with school. Her daughter, Willow, is very mean in most people eyes, since she hates most people... So yesterday me, and some of my friends were at the restaurant we meet at, just talking, and I was helping out a young lady with some history since it's a pain... And the coaches call on me to help... Willows mom came over and said if it were old times and I chose who my daughter would marry, It would be you... Since you both LOVE your chickens, and plus your a child genius, yet I am not, I just pay attention... It made me cringe SOOO badly, and my friends started to chuckle... Since they know willow would probably beat me up, since that's how she is, but not around me... So fun times...

Oh, and if it makes you feel better, I will be incubating some first pullet eggs from my Svarthöna again soon, I hope.

waiting for her first egg. It should be any time now. She may carry the woolly gene, too, so I am hoping for more woolly babies.

Count me in! This will be my first Easter hatch-a-long since I was out of town on the set date last year. We are building a cabinet incubator from an old wine fridge and hope to have it finished in time for the hatch a long. If not, I'll at least be filling up the styrofoam incubator.

I'm in!!!!!!!
Welcome to the Easter Hatch A Long!

Woolly? I'm new to the breed and haven't learned everything yet. I was getting pretty good at speckled sussex before a dog killed my roo. So I sold off all the hens and picked a new breed. I was going to do croad langshans, then this hona pair practically fell into my lap. I recently got another 7 chicks, same farms for parent stock but different breeders. Do you have a sop? The breeder with the pair said there isn't one... She gave me choice of pullet and choice of cockerel, so I tried to choose body type that I found most pleasing.
