For who ever was talking about the 100% hatch rates, it is possible if you get 100% fertility. In the she said/he said we got 6 people with 100 of set and another 5 with 100 of lockdown

I have had a 100% hatch before with a broody hen! Gave her 12 eggs, and she hatched out 12 healthy chicks!

It was a Buff Orpington hen, they have always been my best broodies so far!

The other chicks may not like her but Mr. Moose seems to have taken quite a shine to that sweet little face. My one and only black baby and she is soo much smaller than the others, they beat her up good last night but she was too afraid to be left. Every time I would put her down and walk away she would cry and try to push through the bars in the cat carrier. I look on BYC to see what I could do and read a few threads about putting a stuffy in the cage with her. SURE enough it worked.... I was shocked, my 5 year old gave her his stuffed moose and she is just as happy as happy could be, NOW, she cries when I take her away from the moose. This should be good when she grows up she is gonna think she is a stuffed moose.

I had a lone chick (named Chicky) that I let hang out with our dogs allot and she would eat with them so she partially imprinted on our older dog. She would actually almost "bark" like a dog, it was in-between a dog bark and a chicken squak. We trained our dogs to chase the chickens off the porch (without hurting them) and when Chicky started going outside she did whatever the dogs did. So sometimes she would be lying on the porch in the sun (she thought she got a free pass) and dad would yell "CHICKEN ON THE PORCH!!!" The dogs would run outside, past Chicky and she would jump up and follow them as they started chasing the chickens that were further away. The dogs considered her family so never learned to chase her off the porch, but she loved helping them chase the other chickens away.

She was terrified of the other chickens though unless she was chasing them.

Here's Chicky as an adult. She was my favorite chicken ever, if I walked by without noticing her she would sqwak and run after me, she also laid an egg on my lap once

So i got a Little Giant incubator off the local swap shop, with egg turner, but no fan. So i took the fan out of my DIY styro bator, cause my chickens ate a hole in the side of it, and put it in the LG. Been running it for about 5 days now and the temp seems to be pretty steady so i put 6 eggs in this morning for a test run before the EHAL. here's hoping it does a great job.
