The 7th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-A-Long!

You never know! They may have changed up the roosters and they are pure leghorn.

Do yours have spots or color on them?(the pullets not the eggs)

Of the six that hatched all were white no spots. Two were Roos and one hen escaped when she was very young. Never did catch her but I'm certain something did. Roos are gone.

I'm excited for everyone here who's looking forward to fur babies. I'm praying that each egg hatch without issues and that each baby is healthy! Thanks for letting be be a part of the family!

God bless,Glory

Quote: The chicks I ordered in spring are slowly starting to lay. She's the 3rd to start as far as I can tell.

Huh...I have never had white egg layers, come to think of it...
Aside from Oddity the white egg laying Chantecler (she's supposed to lay brown eggs) these are my first white layers. They were either part of a rare breed assortment or adopt me bargain.

Quote: That what this one is from is an Andalusian. Either it came from one of the 2 blues or the splash. Andi, Blue, and Spot are kinda sweet girls. They're still trying to decide if they like me.

:yesss: I'll probably never find out who it is, but one of my 3 Andalusian pullets laid her first egg today! :weee My first white egg from a breed that is supposed to lay white eggs.
I'm so jealous. I really want Andalusians. Maybe I can talk the husbeast into it this spring

I am hoping to have some of my own Black Penedesenca eggs to hatch for the HAL. But currently only 1 of the 2 pullets is laying. They both were for a while, but when I had to move one of the pullet/cockerel pair, the pullet quit laying. She had been laying for a couple of months! I think her new location gets less sun because the coop is facing 90 degrees in a different direction & there isn't any electricity, so I am having to be patient.

I adopted 2 white leghorn hens about a month ago. Those 2 white birds give me almost as many eggs as the other 4 that were in the group I got. They lay pretty white eggs but I still prefer my brown layers.

I always have a leghorn in my flock..except now. :( I just placed her because I have so many that started laying. I miss those big white eggs every single day!
