They definitely do! I am neighbors with Astoria, less than an hour away. The whole property is completely overrun with berry trees, rhodendendron, and holy, not to mention the magnolia.I know that has to be frustrating. Sorry to hear about that. I hope you can find a way to get a successful hatch.
BTW, I have family (dad's side) from NW Oregon - VERY NW: Hammond (Clatsop county) and Astoria. I love that part of the country, and that's where I found my love for chickens. It rains a lot, but but the berries and rhododendron make it so worth it.
I'd been having to play musical chairs between my, now, 3 incubators, and knocked my hand, and the egg, into the side of one as I was turning to switch bators. I've had butter fingers lately.
Anyway, I did my second candling, and other than a questionable BCM, everybody still looks great! All 31 of them!
