I’ve got neck & back ache from leaning on the work surface & gawping in the incubator

When I was hatching for the breeders, I would space the hatches out by a week because I needed one hatch to finish before the next one needed to go into lockdwon.

Fun times!

I feel like my incubator may have been to cool. It is just hours from day 21 and I haven't had an external pip.
Still hoping!

You never know! sometimes to do not have an early pip.

We more or less have finished the new buildings. I have a couple sets of doors to build still. This big window is for the SDGE.

Only 7 eggs due to hatch Easter..... There are plenty of others!

We Have an external pip on day 20! Just one so far! I'm so happy!
Also, I have discarded two yolkers so we just have 6 in incubation.
Can I get some advice? I have had two hens sitting on these eggs, my dear part bantam cross, part marans hen Misty. And a bantam GLW cross named Leafie. I don't know which to let care for these babies? Should I let both of them? Will they fight over the chicks?

Do they lay eggs together in the nest box? If so they will likely co parent well together

I put 18 eggs in lockdown early this morning.I'm not sure about 4 of them but put them in anyways.3 of of those 4 are very dark color eggs making it hard to see inside but they didn't look fully developed.The 4th egg had a accident and was cracked pretty bad.A egg slipped out of my hand but I was able to catch it with other hand.Only problem was the hand I caught it with was already holding a egg.When falling egg hit egg in my hand it smashed it pretty good..
There is good news cracked egg is still wiggling around so chick isn't dead.If it can survive till tomorrow(day20) it will most likely survive.View attachment 1314697

It will likely be fine. Watch the membrane, if it turns brown, it will need help out.

Watched eggs never pip.

No, but peeping eggs do. So get reaaaal close, be quiet, and listen.
