I have turkey eggs set thanks to @Auroradream26 Also will be setting some of my own EE eggs when it is time to set chicken eggs. Im putting duck eggs in today too though my test batch previously were all unfertile... maybe he's figured out what he's supposed to do by now.

Started collecting today. Of course it’s been raining so eggs will be a little dirtier. But I’ve put out new straw which they have strewn from here to there so we’ll see.

I just came on to ask this question. . When can we start collecting..how long will they be ok to sit until set day.. You just answered! I have one that I decided to save tonight. Tomorrow, all of my eggs I collect will go into sitting until next Sat.

Mine are in my bedroom. I'm having surgery Monday and supposed to take it easy for a few weeks so wanted them easily accessible to me.

I set my eggs today at 3 pm EST. 27 nice big quail eggs! The pullet egg is strictly for comparison of egg size, not hatching it. View attachment 1281356

Yes, no luck. Zero fertility out of 2 flats of BCM & F2 OEs. It felt like punch to the gut with every egg candled and opened. Jesus (Spanish pronunciation) has been a great bird. I’m glad to have him out with the hens. (Named by our then 12 year old son who noticed that the two day old bird loved walking on top of the waterer) A few days ago we put our Ameracauna rooster in that pen- might as well have more OEs.

Maybe trim the roo as well?

A week is about as long as I’ll go. Like Cap says turn them. Mines set up on a block in the carton and each time I go by I’ll rotate the carton 180. I have a hen I’d like to get some chicks from so as many as she lays I’ll set. The rest will be Altsteirers

Incubator update: Reached Day 7 and candles eggs. Looks like 4 of the 6 are fertile. But will be leaving all until Day 14.
