The 9th Annual BYC Easter Hatchalong!

Pics
I’ve bred in Orpingtons in to try and get bigger, fluffier EEs with bigger eggs. I’m starting to get closer to my goal and this year I’m gonna be hatching for EE leg colors and more consistency in beards and muffs. Last years hatches had no crossbeaks. Not even one. Out of three separate hatches! I was so happy.

Well very unhappy with the size of eggs from my ameracauna beautiful birds but real tiny
eggs so have decided keep 1 cockerel and the one that would like to be broody other 2 pullet both banty pullets from main coop and one home grown no body want to roost with all to auction maybe this coming Saturday

I don’t have to worry about staying with a standard color and they are so stinking cute! They colors that I got from last springs hatches are nothing like the colors of their parents. My roosters from those hatches were my Lemondrop, a BO/leghorn mix and Peter Pan (Australorp/BR) over TSC EEs.
These are some of the clean faced girls.

Help! I got my chocolate orp eggs but these look awfully like Maran eggs. What do you guys think? I’m contacting the breeder but she hasn’t answered yet. Thanks! Either way I like both breeds. But I really wanted some chocolate orpingtons in the backyard.

Ps: sorry if the pic is a little hazy, I was in a rush.
Did some looking around on the net..I guess they do look a bit dark. Interested in what the seller says.....
