The 9th Annual BYC Easter Hatchalong!

Pics
I'm going to have over 100 chicken eggs going in my incubator on Friday.
90 sulmtalers and 16 blue marans.

maybe I should have waited got marans from you then sure hoping beyond hope I got fertile eggs off ebay sure paid for fertile :th

MId Winter Cleaning house - from top to bottom....hubby is then going to give me a hand with the Chinese incubator. As long as it is rotating eggs and keeping temp, I will be setting my eggs. Fertility rate is low on my Araucana eggs 1 in 8. Weather is CRAZY, I have low visibility & snow up to my knees by the coop and barn. And I have the two juveniles I put in the coop & the neighbors guinea is causing a little disruption in the "nesting" atmosphere. But if I can get a couple more hens I'll be happy! My three Araucanas are laying daily, one standard brahma, and one la bresse mix hen.....so I will have five Araucana eggs, two standard brahma, one bresse mix egg = 8 eggs total to go in the incubator tonight. Unless someone lays an egg later today or I get some shipped eggs-but with the Great Lake Effect snow & Alberta Clipper. I'm wondering if my shipped eggs I tried hatching this winter just got too cold & that's why they didn't hatch. Although, I've heard through the chicken network that there are some that advertise their show birds eggs (but they know they are not fertile & sell them on ebay). I have seen some that advertise their eggs but leave out the word fertile or that they are hatching eggs. So maybe they tricked me with their wording & I ordered some of these....uhg. Why?

I hope my 9 are fertile blue Marans :barnie

Those are very pretty eggs!

Due to the USPS, Im in! Waiting patiently for them to call to come pick up our first batch to hatch. Im guessing once they finally get here and we do the 24 hour settling period it'll be right about that time. 6 silkies and 6 Dominiques.

Set 14 coturnix quail today. It's too early for the HAL, but oh well. :fl I wanted to set chicken eggs for the actual HAL and have these on the side but it is looking like my birds won't cooperate. :barnie Come on ladies; it's March and you should be laying now.

16 of my own! Including a first egg from my cinnamon queen, are set. The roo hatched with her, so, if this pullet egg makes it, it will be a cinnamon queen. Not mixed. It's pretty small. It may not make it through, but hopefully i can tell if it starts. He's been mateting her for weeks, before she started laying. :/ Poor girl didn't care for that too much. Green ones are from my Nn. :ya The ones I have in now are coming along great.
