I am still collecting guinea eggs, wanting to fill up the new bator. Before the first batch hit lockdown the quail eggs should have hatched by then and i can transfer to the other bator. Hoping for lots of keets!

+/- 1/2 days either side of today is fine to set so you still may be able to get some in tomorrow

I am a notorious story teller.

Campfire time.. OMG.
Inspiration and impatiences started a chain of unprecedented events.. One in particular is about to be noted.

As I previously noted, I am (we) are on the butt end of day 22 of a pre planned hatch from a scheduled rotation of sorts. A some what successful batch with a moderate yield.
Here is the kicker. Emptied the oven. Placed the quitters in the cylindrical waste can and proceeded to clean/sterilize/and acclimate the oven for said..EHAL.
READY FOR THIS?

THE TRASH CAN IS CHIRPING! Shocked and amazed.. scrambling to find the source of the chirp. Candled the balance of the failures and one is raising cane!

We busted open the top of the shell & the inner & outer membranes are bone dry. Fluid is still present so we only assisted enough for it to receive oxygen, but not to cause any of the vital nutritional fluid to leak out & deprive the late hatcher from being robbed from the vital last stage of development.

So without being to "long winded", I set 40 eggs on March 10th @ just around 10:36 P.m. E.S.T.
+ one egg/wanna-be chick that has refused to quit, even though it was in a waste receptacle and being transported to the trash cans an acre away.

So count me in @ 40 plus one straggler egg. Lets rock this thread! But I apologize in advance for my photo happy habits..

Total 30 chicken eggs. 14 crested cream legbars, 11 Ameraucana mix (Ameraucana female, Leghorn rooster), and 5 white leghorns. (The duck eggs on the right don't count since they'll be a week late)

I set a bakers dozen this afternoon without realizing the hatchalong was on. Hoping for some nice Jersey giants in 3 weeks!

I started with 12 now have 20 after the eggs today took about half, we sell our eggs also
but am now getting about 14 a day there is about 8 dozen in out little garage fridge
