The 9th Annual BYC Easter Hatchalong!

I have 9 quail eggs set.

Ordered 8 but the lady I got them from was nice and sent two extra in case of cracked or broken ones. Turns out 5 were cracked and one was complete goner. I waxed the cracked ones so I'm hoping the membrane is still intact.
Sorry about the cracked eggs!

I hope the rest hatch fine for you

Make sure you cover the fan with wire so that when the chicks hatch they don't get injured by it.

A lady on FB had that happen to her, otherwise she had a good hatch rate.

At least I can vouch for their customer service. I got an email, they are sending me a cover. :clap

Ok, so these aren't Easter HAL chicks, but they're still fuzzy (and proof that my incubating techniques are improving slowly). Came home from a 12 hour day to these little treasures.

I like Cugly the naked neck. It's my favorite. It's got an awesome mustash and a bow-tie, too. (not sure if one of my NN girls layed this one, or if a NN boy got to my ameracauna girl)

Except for the turner that comes with the Hova from incubatorwarehouse, flat roller, supposed to hold 42. I thought it would be better, easier to clean anyway leaving it in when hatching. Holds any size eggs quail to goose. But if they're big long chicken eggs instead of three per slot only get two. I think I only got 30 in it when I set just Jersey Giant eggs the first time.
I kinda wish I paid the extra for the other turner, would get 42 in.
If I ever want to 'stuff' it, I think Ron mentioned it, I'll just turn the whole bator, prop it up back and forth. Lol.
Maybe it wasn't Ron, IDK? Is that something you can do? (Not with water in it I imagine) lol.
I have turned the whole bator before, it works.
