Put them into a zip lock bag then when using the incubator.

like was posted, the plugs have questionable value, related to high altitude incubating, but can cause chicks to die during hatch if they are in during lockdown.

The slow duck decided to zip out while I was outside, a little RIR x EE chick was pushing out as I got back too!

Ok so far I have 1 EE x Leghorn chick, 2 EE x RIR chicks, and a Rouen x Pekin duckling!
I still see plenty of pips and a RIR egg is starting to zip
